Book Review: Entwined With You by Sylvia Day

Entwined with You (Crossfire, #3)

(Crossfire Series, Book 3)

Synopsis:

The worldwide phenomenon continues as Eva and Gideon face the demons of their pasts, and accept the consequences of their obsessive desires…

From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside–so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat.

No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.

Entwined by our secrets, we tried to defy the odds. We made our own rules and surrendered completely to the exquisite power of possession…

Review:

6 STARS

“If souls could be mated with wishes, ours would be inextricably entwined."

Oh-My-Gosh!!!!
Many of you already know the Crossfire Series is just one of my all-time favorites (along with the With Me in Seattle Series of course).. so there aren't enough words to explain how much I freaking LOVE Gideon and Eva!

I'm not gonna go into details regarding the plot because it's something you have to experience yourself in order to truly grasp it.. and if you've read the first two books in the series, you know what I'm talking about.
But what I am gonna say is that in this book, we get to see a different side of Gideon and Eva.  They definitely have grown and matured as a couple. Instead of jumping to conclusions, they talked things over and actually learned to trust each other.
We even got to discover the fun and playful side if Gideon!!!! Seeing him laugh and saying jokes!???? *sigh* oh my!!! it was just.... BLISS!!!
The banter between Eva and Gideon in this book had me reading with the silliest grin on my face! I honestly found myself laughing and giggling .. a lot. It just amazed me, honestly. We've been seeing this tortured side of Gideon and it was just so refreshing getting a lighter side of him.. of their relationship.

"But we haven't played with the girls yet." He bent down and buried his face in my cleavage. "Hello, girls."

"Of course you're my favorite ride."
"Aw, that's sweet, baby. And you're my favorite joystick."

"Waking up to you is like... presents on Christmas morning."

His mouth curved. "For your convenience, I'm already unwrapped. Batteries not required."

To me, Eva, has really changed a lot.. and we see it through her actions, or rather, reactions.  She wasn't as insecure as she was in the two previous books, so instead of picking a fight, she just trusted Gideon and chose to enjoy his company. *wink* People have complained, that she used sex as a way to avoid the situations.. I don't see it that way at all.  Like I said, I believe she just learned to trust him.. even if she didn't always fully understand him... at that moment.  Plus, after all the time they'd spent apart, why keep wasting time fighting??? So, props to Eva!!! She didn't let me down in this book.. at all.. on the contrary, I was beyond proud of her. I knew she was my fave female character for a reason!! tee hee.

"In case you've forgotten already, we made a trade. You got me, and I got you. I protect what's mine." - Eva

"I needed him like I needed my heart to beat..."

Gideon... how I love thee!!! There were moments where I just had to stop and fan myself.. *whistles* talk about HOT HOT HOT scenes!!! Overall.. He had me swooning, squirming, giggling.. and just, falling in love with him all over again.!!! How I missed him!!!!!!!!!!!

“I look at you, angel, and I want you so badly. I want to be with you, listen to you, talk to you. I want to hear you laugh and hold you when you cry. I want to sit next to you, breathe the same air, share the same life. I want to wake up to you like this every day forever. I want you."

"You're what drives me, Eva. Can you understand that? You're my heart and soul. If something ever happened to you, it would kill me, too. Keeping your safe is goddamned self-preservation!"

"Day one of my life was the day I met you."

"I can't live without you, Eva. I can't even imagine trying. Just the thought makes me insane."

How can you not love this guy!!!!!!! He's just so ... perfect!!!!!! *deep breath*

In this book, we also got a chance to know more about the secondary characters.  This was something I found interesting and liked, simply because we got to see what was going on around Gideon and Eva, not just between them.  To me, it's like we got the complete environment. We even got a few twists in there.. and some, came as a complete surprise..

Ok.. the ending... I'm NOT gonna say anything to spoil it.. but since I know a lot of people (myself included) have been asking, rest assured it does not end in a relationship cliffhanger. There are things that aren't completely out in the open regarding the plot twists, but that's to be expected since there are two more books on the way!! I obviously wanted to keep on reading, but hey, that's just a clever move on the author's part.

I truly loved this book!! LOVED-IT! Sylvia Day, you did not let me down!

This is a MUST read!

“You own me, Eva. Wherever I am, whatever I’m doing, I belong to you.”

I just wanna throw it out there.. If BRETT ever gets his own book.. I WOULD SO READ IT! I am obviously TEAM GIDEON all the damn way.. but I couldn't help swooning over Brett! I mean common!! The things he said and how he said them!!!!!!!!!????!!!!!
I kinda died a little!!!!!! Not gonna lie.. :)

Books in the Crossfire Series:

Bared to You (Crossfire, #1)

(Crossfire Series, Book 1)

Synopsis:

Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness…

He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily…

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds…and desires. The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart...

Reflected in You (Crossfire, #2)

(Crossfire, Book 2)

Synopsis:

Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction... my every desire... mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.

We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession..
