Synopsis:
Sometimes you can't help falling in love, even when you try to do the opposite...Successful fashion blogger McKenna Bell has spent far too long protecting herself after the way her ex-fiancé left her at the altar for a college chick he met the night of his bachelor party. Loving again, trusting again, well, that's just not in the cards. Especially now that her ex is back in town with his new woman, demanding custody of McKenna's favorite creature in the whole world--her dog. No effing way. McKenna's had enough of him, and she decides to even the score by finding her own hot young thing -- a Trophy Husband. Sure, she's only twenty-seven, but doesn't that make it even more fun -- and infuriating to her ex -- to pursue a younger man?
When she declares her intentions on her daily blog, her quest quickly skyrockets in popularity, and that's when Chris enters the picture, and he’s got all the assets. He's handsome, successful, and turns her inside out with a kiss to end all kisses, the kind that makes you feel like a shooting star. But loving again could mean losing again, and it's so much easier to focus on getting even, isn't it? Unless, you just can't help falling in love. Which means McKenna will have to come face to face with what she really wants in life -- protecting her heart from hurt, or letting go of her fears of a new beginning.

4.5 STARS
"Then I stop the fantasy from going any further. If I don't, I'll start panting right here on the sidewalk, and he'll know I was this close to undressing myself for him."
McKenna gets dumped in the worst possible way.. ever. Through a voice mail message. Her fiancé, Tod, met someone in Vegas during his bachelor party and decided to marry her instead.. the day before their planned wedding! Lovely.
McKenna, is the type of girl that loves proving a point.. so, with the help of her friends, she decides to prove one to the world. If men can marry younger women, women can snatch someone younger too. Hey, if her good for nothing ex can have a Trophy Wife, why can't she have a Trophy Husband?? Right??? So, through her video fashion blog, she starts a contest.. meant to be fun and simple.. But as usual, things don't go as planned.
Enter hot, funny, intelligent, gamer/surfer, Chris.
"My mind is awash in dirty thoughts that are dangerously close to making me too turned on to function."
"The playbook to my body is in him, his head, his heart, his hands. He knows what I want. he knows how I like it. He wants to give it to me."
"You're ex-fiancé is a complete asshole for a million reasons, but most of all because he'd have to be crazy to leave you."
As McKenna gets to know Chris, through different and fun scenarios, and she can't help but really want him. I automatically loved them together.. they were just so cute!! Their banter really had me laughing out loud. You could totally feel their chemistry sizzling off the pages. Loved it!
Yet, afraid to break her oath to her friends, McKenna keeps her desires to herself. But really, how long can a person truly hold back? And trust me, I don't blame her. Chris is very yummy.
"I told you I thought you were hot the very first time I met you, and then we talked and you were so much more." - Chris
"He brings my face close to his, his forehead against mine, and he whispers hoarsely. 'Please touch me'."
"Can you always wear short skirts, so I can get you off in studios, or cabs, or wherever we are?"
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I loved McKenna right off the bat and felt a connection with her. The only downer for me was that I found the book to be a tad slow at first.. but mind you, that all changed.. especially once Chris made his appearance.. *wink*
If you're looking for a fun, light and steamy book, Trophy Husband is perfect for you!
I recommend this book :)
"I want to be the only one in the running. I want you."
