Synopsis:

Tess loves
to paint. She loves her book boyfriends. She likes her music.
Ben likes
women.
This book
dives into the world of online dating….with a twist. People visiting a bar called Chatz can go
“online” to chat with people and ‘hook up’.
Tess visits this bar after one particularly long and stressful day and
meets her new best friend Erin….and joins the online club scene. From here, we quickly learn about everyone in
the club….including Ben.
From
alternating points of view, we hear Ben’s side to Tess’s side on everything
from how they met to what they felt as they take this journey through “dating”.
The story rushes through rather quickly as their love grows. There are some
funny parts, some sweet parts, and there are some loving parts.
‘And
man, I am a fool for offering her a banana…..watching her slowly put the fruit
in her mouth makes me think dirty, very dirty things….’
"Hey,” he draws
my attention back to his eyes, which are soft not mean like I was expecting.
“Tess, like I said I am not going to ‘fuck’ you tonight, because I want to make
love to you tonight.” He says this in an almost whisper.
While we rush
through the story, Ben’s love grows for her at some crazy fast pace and we
learn about Tess’s horrible experience. She has some reservations after
learning more about her attack that one horrible night and the story explodes
from there, giving us many answers that we need to understand Tess’s history
with men….or lack thereof.
Aside from
quite a few grammatical errors and some misuse of words, this story has the
potential to be great. It was a great story line but can use some editing.
Overall, it was a good first book from Danielle Torella. She is in the process
of writing her next book to follow this one.
I would rate this book 3.5 stars
because the potential to be a great book is very much there.
