Enjoy Your Stay
(Sugartown #2)
Synopsis:
*Book two in the Sugartown Series!* The last thing Holly Harris expected was to wind up nineteen, knocked-up, and all alone. When Coop left to pursue his dreams of becoming a rock god, he left a tiny piece of him behind. Holly wishes he hadn’t. Jackson wishes he hadn’t. Jackson Rowe tried filling the void his family left by drinking, screwing around, and leaving a string of heartbroken women in his wake. Moving back to Sugartown should have been easy, but he hadn’t counted on the fact his sometimes attraction to Holly would still be alive and kicking—and he sure as hell hadn’t counted on her being pregnant with another man’s baby. They drive one another crazy, and yet they can’t stay away. When old flames resurface, and even older wounds are torn open, can two people so similar make it work? Or will their stubbornness only drive them further apart? *Content Warning. Intended for a mature 18+ audience. Contains angst, a crap-tonne of profanity, short-tempered Australian wildlife, and some very pregnant sex.
Review:
4.5 Stars
If you have NOT read Welcome
to Sugartown yet, please, please PLEASE
read that first. Holly, in all her glory, starts there and you would miss some
of her quirkiness and comedic nature. She is SO funny!! And true to her style,
she had me cracking up in this book too!! In Welcome to Sugartown, we got to
see her character shine through as Ana’s sidekick….and she was a hoot! This
book was all about her and it was great!
Once again, I was laughing deep into the night while reading this book
with an Aussie accent. *if only you could be inside my head while reading this,
you would be laughing too*
We get to meet Jackson in
book one as well, and he is all cocky and sexy and so very delicious. He is
sexy personified. He is hunky times ten. He likes to hit it and quit it…..he
likes the rotating women in and out of his life….it’s easier and cleaner for
him. Or is it? He is all man and he makes Holly squirm. He finds that he really
enjoys making Holly squirm as well. He really just melted my heart on many
occasions….and some others, he needed to be kicked. HARD. His character was so
loveable….I really did enjoy his character so much.
Holly really likes Jack.
Jack really likes Holly.
Holly and Jack like each
other, but they HIDE IT from each
other and they fight it all the time, and in THE BEST
way possible. It is so heart wrenchingly funny and sweet, that you can’t help
but feel the hurt and the love and the anger between the two. What I mean is,
there is so much emotion in their words, but they are so sarcastic with
each other that the words can really be taken either way.
“….this is Jackson-Freaking-Rowe, people. The real thing pisses me
off just as much as he turns me on, which is every other second of the day.”
~Holly
“I mean, she drives me fucking mental, we fight and we fuck, and
then we fight some more.” ~Jackson
Holly is seriously having a
rough time with this pregnancy by her ex-boyfriend Coop, who has left her for
the big city to chase his rock star dreams. Seriously, the comedy and the
honest, true-to-life depression that Holly presents really was easy to read and
sympathize with. It was also extremely funny, with some truth to it. Jack makes
her SO
mad, yet so hot and flustered and he knows it!!! He uses the fact that
Holly has the hots for his body…..but
screws it up every time with his
mouth! Add to that, Holly is so feisty…I loved her mouth!! She let Jack have
it…..in sooo many ways!! The banter between the two was so on point that it
really made you laugh and shake your head. Holly and Jack have such a draw
towards each other….they can’t seem to stay away from each other. Each push
away makes their pull to each other that much stronger….their affections and
emotions are so entangled within each other’s daily lives, that when they are
apart, they want nothing more than to be with each other. It was truly written
really well with deep emotions and honest feelings.
Jack and Holly seem to be
getting along amazingly well when Cooper decides to saunter back into Holly’s
life….at a most inopportune time. It really wasn’t something she was counting
on….and we got to see Holly struggle but also mature emotionally and she did it
fairly well. There was a great twist to this love triangle and I really enjoyed
the way it played out. Coop is still a very understanding and giving man and
his feelings really come into play during this book and it was really
heartwarming and sad, such a great storyline to read. I really thought Coop was
a good man….but the heart doesn’t lie.
Because my heart told me to
stay, and I’ve never had anything good come from listening to that motherfucker.
~Holly
Holly has some serious soul
searching to do, and I think we really get to see some great character depth
and growth in this book. Holly’s stubbornness and hardheadedness was very
evident in this book….very. However, Jack’s stubbornness and hardheadedness was
there as well!! Ummm…..perfect match? Yes, they were. Totally!!! Their “love”
was really evident in this book; they just needed to work through everything
they were fighting.
“So shut the hell up, man the
fuck up, and hold my hand. Please.” ~Holly
I LOVED THIS BOOK! I can’t
say it enough. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I actually ended this book with a big
smile. Truly and honestly…..this was an amazing read. Carmen Jenner once again
wowed us with this follow up to Welcome to Sugartown. This was a GREAT book and
I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a funny but emotionally satisfying
read. It wasn’t overly dramatic and didn’t feel forced for drama. Carmen Jenner
has to be the easiest, down to earth read I’ve read in a while. She just flows
easily and lightly. Great job!! Great book! Great read!! This review will not
do it justice. Perfect harmonization between emotions and comedy…it was
awesome!
4.5 wonderfully loving and emotionally charged
stars!
Love,
Bethany

Welcome to Sugartown
(Sugartown #1)
Synopsis:
Ana Belle never wanted anything more than to hang up her apron, jump on her Vespa and ride off into the sunset, leaving Sugartown in the dust.
Elijah Cade never wanted anything more than a hot meal, a side of hot arse and a soft place to lay his head at night where he could forget about his past.
But you know what they say about wanting: you always want what you can’t have.
Nineteen year-old virgin Ana is about to discover that’s not quite true because a six foot three, hotter than hell, tattooed, Aussie sex god just rode into town. He’s had a taste of her pie and he wants more– no really, Ana bakes pies for a living, get your mind out of the gutter.
She’d be willing to hand over everything tied up in a big red bow, there’s just one problem; Elijah has secrets dirtier than last week’s underwear. Secrets that won’t just break Ana’s heart, but put her life at risk, too. When those secrets come to light, their relationship is pushed to breaking point.
Add to that a psychotic nympho best friend, an overbearing father, a cuter than humanly possible kid brother, a wanton womanizing cousin, the ex from hell and more pies than you could poke a ... err ... stick ... at.
And you thought small towns were boring.

Carmen Jenner
Carmen Jenner
She's also a compulsive, flagrant prevaricator who gets to make things up for a living.
While Sugartown may not technically exist, Carmen grew up in a small Australian town just like it, and just like her characters, she always longed for something more. They didn't have an Elijah Cade, though. If they did, you can be sure she would have never left.
