Book Review for More Than Famous by Kahlen Aymes

MORE THAN FAMOUS
Author: Kahlen Aymes
Series: Famous #2
~ SYNOPSIS ~
Fame is a bitch... And a half.

Being a big star has its perks, but Caden Carlisle is in love with his costar, Brooklyn Halloway, and the movie studio demands that they keep it under wraps to ensure big box office success.

Cade always disliked the spotlight, preferring to focus on the work, but coupled with the ruthless stalking of rabid paparazzi, the secrecy forced upon his new and fragile relationship, and the vindictive games of others, celebrity status turns into a curse.

Can the roller coaster of emotions bring them closer still, or will jealousy and distance rip them apart forever?

Kahlen Aymes turns up the heat and cranks up the angst in FAMOUS Novel Two; the continuation of Cade and Brook's incredible love story... Because there's more to fame than meets the eye.

ADD TO GOODREADS

I was SO anxious to finally get this book.....I absolutely love Brook and Cade and the love they have for each other is beautiful. Famous (FREE!!) was one of my favorite books this year. No drama, just angsty, sexy goodness. This series is following The Remembrance Trilogy as actors portraying Ryan and Julia, and I am loving following the journey of Cade and Brook, but also remembering the trilogy that I read so long ago and how I came to love Kahlen's writing style and stories. Her writing makes you yearn for more....you can't help but hope for more.

More Than Famous was the second installment providing some character growth and drama to the series, along with a whole batch of misunderstandings. Kahlen, ONCE AGAIN, mastered the love scenes between these two. Cade and Brook connected on every level and it was always a very emotional coming together (pun intended? maybe). Cade always said the right thing....so sensual and so swoony. I loved the way he loved her. LOVED it. He was so rough and tough on the outside, but so tender and loving on the inside. Very emotionally attached to Brook. They loved each other, they got each other and they read each other....it was truly a love worth fighting for. I really enjoyed that side of the story and love how they grew from their problems and showed a united front when they came together.

~He was everything. I was everything. We were everything. Just--everything. ~

Having said that, I need to be honest when I say this: the added drama and misunderstandings provided, for ME, some turbulence in my reading. While I LOVE Kahlen's style of writing and the angst in her books, this one did the opposite for me. This pains me greatly, because Kahlen is one of my favorite authors. I was not enjoying their drama in this book. I found myself angry at their immaturity and quickness to blame each other when something happened, especially when they should have understood and KNOWN the depth of their love for each other. They claim to know it, and then something happens and it get's blown out of proportion. Cade was also overly emotional for me and completely different than what we normally see in Kahlen's male characters. It was really hard to feel this knowing how much I am loving Cade and Brook's story.

~I know, I feel like I'm dying. But if we didnt love each other so much, it wouldn't hurt like this."

Make no mistake though, even with the discord I felt, I must say that this was a necessary chapter in their lives, and one they needed to go through, so I won't doubt Kahlen will take care of us and give Cade and Brook the amazing ending they so deserve. In Cade and Brook, you can just feel the love between them and know that they have found the ONE that does it for them. I would still easily recommend this book, it was just a really hard book for me to get through.

~I wanted to look at her, savor her, make every touch last.~

I'm a single mother of one daughter, Olivia. She's amazing in every way.

I was born in the Midwestern United States and educated at a private university where I received a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Business Administration.

I've always been creative with art, music, theater and writing. I decided to write a story as a way to build a network for a business venture. The reader support of my stories and my overwhelming desire to find out where my characters would take me, soon had the writing morphing the business. No one was more shocked than I. When readers began nominating my work for online awards, it took my breath away and only made me love it more. It soon became clear that writing was, and should be, my focus.
