I find it funny to look back….on May 20, 2013 I posted my Amazon review for Kiss This. I wasn’t a reviewer with HEA and I had only been reading for a few months, so I wasn’t really writing reviews that were really ‘seen’ by anyone. This was my review:

I *LOVED* this book!!
So very well written and the story just flowed effortlessly. I could follow it
and get immersed in the feelings and the emotions being poured out on the
pages. This was a beautiful love story that showed ups and downs, fear and
love, compassion and determination. I just loved it!!! I can't wait for Jay's
story!! Thanks Hadley!!!

that? I knew I wanted Jay’s story….and bad. I knew I would love it. So, let me just
say this: Hadley did NOT let me down.
I am a huge fan of
Hadley’s….this is not in question. I have been a fan since I read The Fighters Block and Kiss This. The banter and wittiness that
she infuses into her stories is not like any other authors that I have
seen….and I love it! So, knowing this book was the next one that I got the
pleasure of reading….I knew I was in for a treat.
Jay is a smart ass. He’s funny
as hell and is very charismatic. Jay sure can make the girlies swoon, but he’s
a lover and a leaver. He doesn’t need a woman….he has too much going on. Too
much on his plate and his dreams are what he is working towards. He is young
after all, and so he knows he has time.
Jay lives by a motto…..one that
‘protects’ him:
Women were his hand of cards; he had to play the game just
right so he didn’t lose.
And so he didn’t get made the fool.
Relationships with chicks were just too fucking complicated
to deal with. ~Jay
That’s all fine and
dandy….until you run into the ONE
girl that can take your smart mouth, cocky attitude and big ego and match it.
And “she” did it….oh boy, did she ever.
If you read Kiss This, you will probably be able to guess “who” I am
talking about, but if you haven’t, you may be lost!! Go back and read that book
before trying to read this one! These are all standalone books in a series, but
you get so much from each book moving forward.
She was like the gorgeous best friend in high school that
you were too afraid to date because just being friends with her was already too
good to be true. It’s not that you never thought about what it’d be like to
have her in your bed…..
You just didn’t fucking go there.
We got to see a very protective
alpha side to Jay….and one that we saw before, but it came out rather hard core
in this book. By the time the book was over, I saw a whole different side to
Jay and he was just a super funny,
egotistical smart ass. Yep….but you will fall more in love with him….HARD.
We got to see some super sweet sides of him too….ones that I didn’t think he
was capable of!!!
What’s going on, baby doll?” he asked quietly.
Oh holy hell, he smelled so amazing. And his voice, asking
her something so simple, just melted her from the inside out. She could cuddle
up against him any damn second of the day and feel like she was in heaven.
He didn’t always make the right
decisions and he certainly learned a few hard lessons….ones that no one should
have to learn in such a hard way. Jay
has to learn to work through his pain and isn’t too sure how to do it….and why
“she” keeps hanging on. Jay feels he doesn’t deserve her love and affection and
pushes her away…..until he realizes he may have made a mistake.
“I can’t tell you, Jay. You know why?” Her green eyes were
full of tears and they bore right through him. It did a fucking number on his
chest but paralyzed him at the same time. “Because if I have to tell you, then
this,” she motioned between the two of them, “isn’t meant to be.”
My heart went through the
wringer a few times with this book….I laughed, I got emotional (remember, I
don’t cry) and I got upset with Jay. The
dialogue kept you laughing, the storyline kept you intrigued and the characters
made it all worthwhile. This was an amazing story and I rank it right up there
as one of my favorites, YET AGAIN,
from Hadley Quinn.
I rate this book 6 epically

“You should just be more careful about who you hook up with,” Teague said.
“You’re one to talk,” Jay retorted. “Hello Kate?”
Teague looked at him hard. “Exactly, asshole. I’m speaking from experience. I met a lying bitch of a schemer and was totally fucked over by her. I don’t want that shit to happen to you, Jay. Just take the damn advice and think about it, okay? You have these pissed off exes and wannabe stalkers that—”
“Hey, I don’t have ‘exes’,” Jay corrected him.
“Fine, women that you’ve pissed off with your charming personality.”
“Why is it that they get pissed off in the first place? How more honest can I get than ‘this is only a one-night thing, sweetheart’. They willingly agree, so why does there have to be fucking hurt feelings over it?”
“You ever think that women may not ‘really’ fully agree with you?”
Jay laughed sarcastically. “How is it my fault if they say one thing but mean another?”

My main interests include music, surfing, and dance. I also love to travel and I'm obsessed with baseball as well as several other sports.
