Harper.

But Ava is no longer the scared, lost girl she once was. Ava is stronger, and she will not allow her past, taint her future.

Review:
5 Stars

“Surrender to me,” he whispers, droplets of water running down his face, into his parted lips. And I am mesmerized by those lucky beads of water caressing his face like a lover’s touch.

Angst-driven! Passionate! Hot! “Surrender To Me” was an amazing sequel that, for the life of me, I could NOT put down!

The story picked up a few months later from where it ended in “I Surrender”. It started with Ava on a plane back to LA from Singapore for V’s wedding, with none other than…. Harper. *deep breath* I automatically knew at that moment, I was in for one hell of a ride with this book. This was what I feared would happen when I first read book one’s ending. But rest assured, Monica James took things to whole different level and captivated my full attention throughout the entire book.

“I can’t believe you’re the same person, because that person lied to me and broke my heart.” - Jasper

When Jasper and Ava came face-to-face for the first time in months, you could have cut the tension in half with a knife. The way this book was written allowed me to feel every.single.emotion these characters felt. Suffice it to say I was at the brink of an anxiety attack! My heart dropped, broke, and beat at 100mph, several times along the way. There were a few moments where I just wanted to grab Jasper and Ava’s heads and MAKE THEM kiss and make up!!! Hahaha!!

Even though this book was only written from Ava’s POV, I always knew what Jasper was feeling. There was no doubt in my mind he was still head-over-heals in love with Ava. The things he not only said, but did?? Panties, meet floor.

“The only thing that’s important to me is you. Everyone else can go to hell.”

“I missed you Ava. And being close to something that belonged to you helped that ache go away.”

“When I got to know you, you made me feel alive. You made me want to be a better person because of you, you are my everything.”

This guy…. This guy… *swoon*. And OMG -- the pool scene!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aaahhh!! I was over the moon with happiness while reading it!!!!!! I totally did a weird happy dance… I mean, it was a pretty hot scene so I was kind of squirming while happy dancing! True story. All I’m going to say is that this author can sure steam up a scene. ;)

Okay well, back to the plot. If I could have kicked Harper in the balls, I would have. Gladly. Ugh. I also wanted to smack two particular ladies that had their eyes set on Jasper throughout the book. I may or may not have yelled at my Kindle: BACK OFF! *sigh* This book had A LOT of juicy drama, angst, and a few surprises here and there. Towards the end, there was a twist that literally made me gasp. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough!!!! I’m telling you, this was a great book.

Lucas and Veronica were amazing secondary characters and I loved how much THEY loved Jasper and Ava. They were always patient, understanding, and sneaky (you’ll know why once you read this book) where Jasper and Ava were concerned. I found myself giggling while reading their interactions because they were like this crazy family that understood each other in their own way. Amazing chemistry.

The ending of this book was a happy one BUT, this being the SECOND out of THREE books, OF COURSE there’s more to come. In fact, this ended in a sort of *gasp* moment. To me, it was more like a “squeeee!! YAY!!!!” moment. But oh well, to each their own. :) I DEFINITELY liked THIS ending way more than book’s one ending. I HIGHLY recommend you buy this series!! Can’t wait for book THREE!!!!! Eeekkk!!

“My heart is yours. It beats for no one but you. Do you hear me? Only you.”
