(Just Human, Book 2)
Synopsis:
Danny and Liv are back...
Danny loves Liv. He knows he loves her more than she loves him because she ran without a word when she saw their future mapped out before her. He knows he will never love anyone like he loved her and this time he doesn’t think he can move on.
Liv loves Danny. She knows she loves him more than he loves her because he broke her heart in the worst possible way, right when things were falling into place. She knows she will never love anyone like she loves him and this time she doesn’t think she can move on.
They needed a second chance because they just weren’t ready for their first, but when events changed everything between them, they discovered they were just human after all. Now Liv and Danny have to find a way to survive being hurt by each other.
They doubted, they underestimated and they did believe the worst, but only because they were too young the first time and too vulnerable the second time. But now they have changed and if they are not the same, surely things can only turn out differently?
Review:
4.5 Stars
“Life isn’t the same without you. I miss your
smile, your voice, your beautiful face, you touch, the fun we have, the way you
make me feel. I miss everything about you.”
After finishing Just Human, I HAD to start Still Human... immediately. There was no
way in hell I would go to sleep after that ending. I was so frustrated with Liv!! Ugh!! I mean, YES I get why she reacted
that way, but sheesh!!!! Her actions or rather, reactions led to some serious heartache
– which obviously made the book a great and interesting read, don’t get me
wrong.
Danny was definitely a true
romantic. Liv was a very, very lucky girl to have such a wonderful man love
her. He literally gave up everything he had in L.A. just to be by her side, even
when she didn’t even want to see him.
“I love you, Liv. I will do anything to make
you see that.”
My heart was constantly
breaking for Danny. I felt his desperation every step of the way. I also
understood Liv’s fears, though. They both had to face their inner demons and
insecurities in order to be whole and finally, together.
I loved Max in book one and
even more so in this one. I liked that he played a bigger role in the plot. He
definitely had a lot to do in the mending of Liv and Danny’s relationship. He
was such a great friend, not only to Liv, but to Danny as well.
“He’s far away from home, missing his friends
and family, all for you, and you are like this great big, fucking brick wall”
He called it like he saw it and
I really liked that about him. He was always honest with both Danny and Liv
regarding the whole situation. Jen, Danny’s best friend, also played a key role
in the whole “let’s get Danny and Liv back together” scenario. She was
constantly giving great advice to Danny and supporting him 100%. So once again
I have to say, I loved these two secondary characters AND I really, really want
them to get spin-offs!!!
“You told me once that you were afraid I would
turn out to be just human and that I would hurt you. I told you then that I am
just human and that I could be hurt just as easily. Well, I’m still human… I’m
still me and I know we could destroy each other. But I don’t care, because life
without you isn’t worth living…”
I’m telling you, Danny had a
way with words. Once again, he had me swooning all throughout the book. The way
he took care of Liv was just…beautiful!!! Seeing him and Liv get through
everything and finally experience the life they were always meant to have, was
amazing. I found myself smiling at how everything seemed to fall into place….
At how they fully got each other. Danny
and Liv were true soulmates and Kerry Heavens did a great job portraying that. I recommend this heartwarming novel to
everyone!!
