Synopsis

Rapture,
book 2 in the McKenzie Brothers series, picks up rather nicely where we left
off in The Wedding novella (1.5). One thing Lexi can do is transition a story
very seamlessly. We made a jump to 5 months later at Lily’s baby shower in the
book. I don’t feel like I missed anything moving onto Sebastian and Carla’s
story, which was nice. This is a great
story told from a dual POV with Carla and Sebastian. I truly love this series
and think this book was a good addition to the overall storyline.
Lexi can write
some steamy scenes…..let’s get that out there!
Sebastian
saw Carla from across the way at his brother’s wedding and couldn’t keep his
eyes off her!! It was instant attraction
for Sebastian…..he saw Carla and wanted to meet her. He knew instantly that she
was different. His description of his first sight of her just melts your heart.
He was captivated by her beauty:
“My breath catches in my chest
as she walks out of the marquee, if you could call it walking; she practically
floats with grace and elegance. She’s breathtaking! One of the most beautiful
women I’ve ever seen with a tall slim build and full breasts that accentuate

But….it
turns out that she is with his brother, Ramon. He couldn’t believe it!! Finally
a woman that makes him stop in his tracks, and she is taken!! The attraction between the two of them in
palpable and ‘forbidden’ in the McKenzie brothers’ world since Ramon is
‘dating’ Carla….or so we think. I loved the honesty of the feelings behind this
relationship….the attraction was SO strong, and very undeniable, yet they were
staying apart because she was in a ‘relationship’.
Undeniable….strong…..intense. Good use of those words would describe the pull
they had towards each other.
Here is the
kicker….Sebastian likes to love’em and leave’em. He isn’t a one woman man….he likes to play
the field and say goodbye after he scores.
He denied his attraction…to himself. He wanted to. But every time they
were in a room together, he couldn’t take his eyes off her. He wanted to touch her, to talk to her…..to
kiss her. But he didn’t do love.

Carla wasn’t
immune to Sebastian’s charm either….she felt, with every bit of her being, how
attracted she was to him! Especially after running into each other at Lily’s
baby shower….in the pantry, behind closed doors, alone….together.

which runs through me, if the slight shake to his hands is any indication, he’s

There is
drama in this book….but not the normal drama you see. This one is in the form
of a crazy ex out to get revenge and a clueless bimbo that wants her own
‘piece’ of the McKenzie pie. The way they were handled was super quick, and it
was done and over. It wasn’t long and drawn out. It was NOT the main focus of
the book, but added a little drama to make you want to read some more.
Their love
affair made leaps and bounds in this book. They have some steamy hot, super
sexy love scenes. Their appetite for one another is insatiable and Sebastian is
so caring and protective of Carla, we definitely got to see the alpha male in
him!
As I watch him, I feel heat
licking at my body. He is divine and I know he’s feeling my gaze as the bulge
in his pants is growing before my eyes. Unable to help myself, I lick my lips only
to have my eyes shoot up to his when I hear him groan.
“If you keep looking at me as
though you want me in your mouth, I’m not going to be responsible for the

This was a
short and sweet addition to the McKenzie brothers’ story and I can’t wait to
read Ruben’s book next!! This is a fun, lighthearted and steamy series that is
easy to read and one that you can pick up and get sucked into. How many
families have this many hot sons….? Apparently the McKenzie family does!!

What the hell has gotten into Sebastian? He practically dragged me out of Lily’s room and now he’s dragging me down the hallway as though there’s a fire.
He looks through the window to a room. “In here,” he says, pushing the door open before pulling me inside and out of view of the window.
“Sebasti–”
