Review:
5 Stars!
I should
start this review off with this disclaimer: Real was my very first book
hangover….EVER. If I can do this book even an ounce of justice with a decent review….it
most certainly won’t be enough. I love
finding out the meaning of a book’s title as you are reading the book. That
little ‘discovery’ is so neat to me. While reading this book, from the very
beginning you understood immediately why it was called what it was and the
title was perfect!
I will never, ever, get used to the
sight of him in that ring. My heart whams excitedly into my rib cage while all
my insides pulse with need, and my chest feels like a balloon about to burst in
excitement. Hard, lean, and perfect, he is all dangerous, all beautiful and all
mine. ~Brooke
“You’re everything I never knew I
wanted.”
“And all mine, remember that
tidbit.”
“Completely mine”, he says.
~Remington
This book
oozed sexiness and sex appeal….it was so sexy and so lovingly written, I just
wanted to crawl in the book and snuggle them both!! I love how Katy can make
you feel the urgency of Remy’s love and affection towards Brooke. We learned A
LOT about Remy in this book….so much so that I felt I had a better
understanding of ‘him’. I loved learning more and seeing more of Brooke’s and
Remy’s story. So full of love….
The synopsis
on this book didn’t give ANYTHING away, so I will not be
diving into the depths of the story in my review here so I do not spoil
anything….I will, however, say that Remington goes black and has to deal with
some deep issues, ones that Brooke had never had to really encounter. The
depths he goes through to rectify the problem were very emotional and very
heart wrenching for Brooke….and ME!
Brooke learned a lot about the time she left Remy (end of Real) and what went
on while she was gone. She deals with quite a bit of emotion while she is
working through all the pain she caused him.
Brooke ends
up having to be away from Remy for a little bit of time, and the distance apart
and the time spent away from each other is so difficult, you can feel their
pain. Brooke upset me in quite a few places and I wanted to shake her…but I
understood the feelings she was feeling given her “state of mind”. Remy made sure that she felt his love….even
with his hatred of phones and technology, they made sure to keep the passion
there and alive.
“All right. But who are you going
to call first if it gets worse? ME. Who are you going to call when you need
anything? ME. I’ll be your everything. I’ll be your fucking booty call by
phone. Anytime, wherever I am. Am I
clear, Brooke?”
“I’m sorry. My mind froze on booty
call.”
The pull on your emotions during this book is valid. Very
much so. I highlighted so many parts to share and remember that I had to tone
it down a bit just to write this review. It is so hard to put into words what
this book did to me….the love that poured from the pages
wrapped you UP. It engulfed you and made you feel all warm and cuddly….and
dayum!!! It was sexy as hell! The love scenes…..whoo!! He was so possessive of
her and knew exactly what he wanted and he always got it. Always. He is
constantly rubbing her bottom lip with his thumb….and the vision that conjures
up, it just makes me think that this big man is looking at her mouth like he
wants to devour her!! It was such a great visual….my gosh, I couldn’t get
enough of how *MUCH* Remington loved her and how hard he loved her. I just
ate.it.up.
You’re
going to fucking love me if it kills me.” ~Remington
“I’ll
be making you Mine your whole life.” ~Remington
By the time
it was all said and done, this book just made me happy. So very happy. It was a
perfectly written, wonderful addition to their growing story. I can’t wait to
read Remy next. I know I will love it just as much, if not more. Once again,
Katy hit the nail on the head. Such a great book.
I rate this
book 5 insatiably loving stars. I want more and will get it….I know it!
Favorite
quote from the book at a very emotional part:
“You’re blinded
because you’re mine.”
“No, I see you because
I’m yours.”
