4.5 HOT HOT HOT Stars
Holy cow! Talk
about a smokin’ hot book! Adriane Leigh
can sure steam up a scene! Being a fan of hers since Steel and Lace, I knew she could write some very sexy books. But
mind you, she took things to a whole new level of hotness in WILD. I mean, a dirty talking alpha
male?? Whoa. What a HUNK of man! Hot,
sexy, and rough around the edges. Need I say more?
“And
the scratches you left on my back remind me just what it felt like to be deep
inside you.”
Kat Kennedy
was new to the small town in Maine. One night at a bar, she met Lane Wild and
they ended up having one heck of a hot and passionate ‘one night stand’. They
didn’t even exchange names. Easy breezy, right? Wrong. You see, in a small town, everyone knows everyone and there’s
only so many places you can go without running into each other. It seemed Kat
could not escape Lane. Life had a funny way of working things out. Ha! Did it.
At the
risk of sounding silly, I have to say that things between Kat and Lane got
pretty…well, wild. Hell, there may or
may not be some f/m/f action between
them! *wink* Even though they were both hell bent on not having a “relationship”,
as a reader, I felt their chemistry…their passion. I knew they both wanted more.
“I
won’t let other pricks think they have a chance with you, because they fucking
don’t.”
Lane may
like things rough, but inside, he was
a gentle man that cared for Kat. Actually, they BOTH cared for each other. They
were just SO STUBBORN that they wouldn’t admit it…and I can’t say I blame them.
They both had pasts, so I understood where they were coming from. However, there
is one specific bar scene where they both pissed me off. Lane, for doing
something STUPID and Kat for reacting the way she did and letting something happen afterward. Thankfully,
Adriane Leigh does not write angst-driven scenes like this one and not fix
things. Lane DID redeem himself, as did Kat. After this little situation, it seemed like things finally started coming
together for them.
I
could feel the pain coming off her in waves. This girl had been hurt so deeply,
it was like there was no coming back. “Let me take care of you,” I murmured as
I places a kiss on her temple.
Walls
started to come down. They started to actually know each other. It wasn’t just about the hot sex anymore. They had
done what they thought was impossible. They had become more than just “friends who fuck”.
“I
needed her smile and her laugh; I needed her. Because as much as it twisted my
gut to say it, I fucking loved her.”
And then, shit
hit the fan.
Towards
the end, a lot of things went down. There were surprises that made the plot even more interesting. In a way, it
seemed like the story line got deeper. Adriane managed to make my heart race,
break it, and put it back together in a matter of chapters. But relax, there IS
a happy ending. In fact, I loved the Epilogue. I think I actually smiled while
reading the entire thing! It was a really beautiful ending for Kat and Lane.
They truly deserved it and I couldn’t have asked for a better one. I am now
anxiously waiting for the next book, Ridge.
This will be Lane’s brother’s book and I have a feeling Adriane will make it
just as good as this one, if not better.
If you’re looking
for a book with an alpha male, a HOT romance, and a little suspense, I
recommend you go one-click Wild. You
will not be disappointed.
