Review:
5 Stars
Absolutely a 5 STAR read!!!
One of the
things that makes a book a truly great read for me is the characters. I have to
be completely immersed in their lives and connected with their stories to be
able to say that I LOVED a book. Ella Fox did not disappoint me with Catch My
Fall. I was HOOKED from the very beginning. The first time I sat down to read,
I got to 15% just because I didn’t have time to keep going. The second time I
read I finished the book!!! I DEVOURED the last 85%. I couldn’t stop myself, I
just had to know what happened next.
My
connection with the characters was instant. I knew I was going to love Mia as
soon as I met her and Darby had me at “I call her Kenny G because she blows so
much.” In most books the characters annoy me at some point, or make decisions
that drive me crazy, but that never happened in Catch My Fall. After getting to
know Mia, I realized that there was something dark and scary about her past
that made her leery of guys. The actual events that took place in her past are
awful, and so relatable to real life situations that it was scary. Darby turns
out to be the perfect roommate for Mia at college and she just so happens to be
friends with the Chamberlain twins, Trace and Tristan.
Oh,
Tristan, AKA Chocolate Eyes. When the reader first meets Tristan, Darby informs
us that he is a Malore, a male whore. He is a typical ladies man that needs to
find the right girl that can make him outgrow his Malore ways. Could Mia be
that girl? She finds herself attracted to Tristan like she’s never been
attracted to a guy before.
“I’d
never in my life had the butterfly feeling about a guy and it was both scary
and exhilarating.”
With both
of them harboring a dark past, can Tristan and Mia ever really overcome the
things that haunt them and be able to have a normal relationship? Their twisted
pasts are more closely intertwined than either of them ever expected. After Mia
finally divulges her secrets to Tristan, he finds it hard to handle because his
past and Mia’s past come crashing together in the most unexpected way. With the
odds against them, they have to decide whether to fight for their future or let
their past destroy the relationship they built.
“Fighting
for you is what I was born to do.”
This book
was definitely a rollercoaster ride of emotions for me. My emotions were
closely connected with the characters I fell in love with. I laughed when they
laughed, cried when they cried, and felt everything they felt.
“Where
I once saw only dark, you’ve brought the light.”
Though the
subject matter in the plot of the book was dark and twisted, I was completely
satisfied with the HEA at the end of the book. I cannot wait to read more about
these characters in the next installment of the series.
I highly
recommend this book to whoever may be reading this review. Seriously, I don’t
think words can accurately explain how much I enjoyed this story. Such an
amazingly beautiful twisted story of hopelessness, love, and acceptance. This
is the very first Ella Fox book I have ever read and it most certainly won’t be
my last!
“The
love that I thought I didn’t deserve has turned out to be my salvation. What
were the odds?”
So, what
are you waiting for? Go pick up this book NOW! =) Happy reading!
XOXO, Jodie
