4 - 4.5 Stars
That was a pretty brief synopsis for a book *SO* full of mystery and suspense…it was a great romantic suspense book. This book had everything needed for an awesome book: *Mystery *Intrigue *Emotion *Heartache.
This book is not my normal/typical read because there was a lot of suspense and action in this book, but it was written very well! I liked 'hearing' the different voice in this book. I have read all of SE’s books, but I haven’t read any of Erin’s (I know, I know!!), and so this combined voice really took me for a ride. It had a lot of action, both in and out of the bedroom…..or the lighthouse. Ha!! (Mental note: bucket list, add lighthouse rendezvous.)
The mystery in this book took us on a ride to figure out something so very important to Bryce….or Graham. He was set out to prove his point….and he wasn't going to let anything stand in his way. A brother’s best friend…..his keeper. When your brother is your best friend, you do anything to honor them and their memory. Bryce was going to do just that.
"Justice will be brought to my brother's name. I am still
his keeper-even in death."
Jocelyn was a very unhappy woman, stuck in a life she didn't necessarily want…..and the man? Oh hell no!!! Slime-Buckets-R-Us. He was everything you truly didn't want in a man. She was in a job that was making her increasingly more stressed out, she was starting to question things in her everyday life….it was just hard. Jocelyn needed an out from the hell she was in, and it just so happens that Bryce was going to help her…and she wanted him to help her. Oh my….luckily, the feelings were mutual.
The love between Jocelyn and Bryce is so dynamic and ‘honest’…..as honest as you can get in the situation you are in. You know how you just meet that one person and you know they are going to be your friend for life/lover for life? Well, Jocelyn was that for Bryce. And Bryce was that for Jocelyn. I loved seeing their inner thoughts play about as they tried to understand and accept their feelings. I fell in love with their “love”. Unfortunately, it didn't work out too well for him at some point and they had a setback. A rather LARGE setback….one that made me shake my head and worry, actually worry, for the both of them.
"If she never speaks to me again, I'm thankful I helped
her, in any small way, move past that part of her life."
Jocelyn and Bryce had so much going on between the two of them, yet they were apart. This needed to be rectified and done quickly. I love a good alpha male….we all know that. I love the different ones that I have gotten to encounter in the many books I've read, but Graham/Bryce was something else. He was a strong and protective man with integrity, and a certain softness around the heart. He was dreamy….very much so. I loved that Bryce was always there…..always there to protect Jocelyn in ANY WAY he could possibly be. But being apart, they needed to accept what was, what could be and what needed to be.
"Where are you going, J? Can I come to you?" It's a grovel,
that I'll proudly own. I've never needed the comfort of her touch more than
right now.
Their love was strong and so very intimate to them. They truly had a love that would conquer all…..and the mountains they had to climb to get there were monumental. This book is worth the read….it is very in depth and full of suspense. I loved the love that came from it and I enjoyed seeing everything unfold. I felt their intensity, I felt Jocelyn and Bryce’s pain and I most certainly felt the OMG!! moments as they happened. Most of all, I have a new BBF to think about….Bryce was super dreamy. He can protect me any.day.of.the.week.
She doesn't just kiss me-she hands over every want, need and
desire in her sexy ass body-and tells me with each stroke of her tongue-she's
mine. Completely.

~ TEASERS ~
~ EXCERPT ~
She giggles and kisses my lips softly. “I live here, so I’m not escaping, frowny-face. I need to use the bathroom.” She wrestles out from underneath my hold, stretching her arm to the chair beside the bed. Sitting up on the edge, she slips on a satin robe before standing.
“Why are you covering up that body, babe? I was already hard waiting to watch you go,” I tease…except not at all teasing.
“What?” She glances over her shoulder with a sassy grin. “You don’t like it?” She looks at her silky attire and runs her hands over the robe enticingly. “I’ll have you know, I've been told pink is my color.” Her mouth turns down subtly the second the words escape; a faraway sadness ghosting across her eyes for a fleeting second before she quickly dismisses the thought away and fakes a smile.
A surge of nausea consumes me, a shiver elicited with the chill that creeps up my spine, the unfair devil of irony dousing me in frigid shame and guilt.
It’s her—my Jocelyn—was Devon’s…fascination, his ‘I hope she feels the same.’
I just made love to the woman my little brother never even got a chance to ask on a date.
