Book Review: Uncivilized by Sawyer Bennett

UNCIVILIZED
Author: Sawyer Bennett
~ SYNOPSIS ~
Putting a woman on her knees before me is what really makes my cock hard. I fuck with dominant force and absolute control. I demand complete surrender from my conquests.

Savage man, loner, warrior… I am dangerous at my core. I have lived amidst the untamed wild of the rainforest, in a society that reveres me and where every woman falls before me in subjugation.

Now I've been discovered. Forced to return to a world that I have forgotten about and to a culture that is only vaguely familiar to my senses.

Dr. Moira Reed is an anthropologist who has been hired to help me transition back into modern society. It’s her job to smooth away my rough edges… to teach me how to navigate properly through this new life of mine. She wants to tame me.

She’ll never win.

I am wild, free and raw, and the only thing I want from the beautiful Moira Reed is to fuck her into submission.

She wants it, I am certain.

I will give it to her soon.

Yes, very soon, I will become the teacher and she will become my student. And when I am finished showing her body pleasure like no other, she’ll know what it feels like to be claimed by an uncivilized man.

~ REVIEW ~
4 Stars

Ok. So let’s just clean up from that synopsis…..it reads HOT, right?? Well, the book certainly lived up to the synopsis in EVERY way. Sawyer Bennett is really good about keeping a book entertaining…..and she knows how to up the heat factor as well. I love all her books, and this one was no exception.

This book was definitely out of the norm for Sawyer, and most certainly for me too. I read books that I can relate to and really connect with. While this one was different, I found myself really getting immersed in the story of Zach and Moira. I fell in love with their story and their relationship.  I know it’s wasn’t exactly realistic, but I think that’s why I loved it so much…it allowed me to go outside the norm and enjoy a great story. I went in with the assumption that it was just going to be great storytelling from Sawyer, because I have yet to read one of her books and not like it. And it was great storytelling…..boy, was it ever. And hot. HOT HOT HOT.

Clearly, at the start of this book we are learning about Zach, how he came to be part of a tribe and why Moira is there to get him and bring him “home”. She has an immediate attraction to him, an attraction that curiosity gives into on a few hot occasions.

I couldn't have imagined the animal magnetism he projected. He walked with confidence and swagger…. ~ Moira

The emotions that were pulled from me while reading this book ranged from shock, intrigue, anguish, sexy-hot and sadness. I got a few good giggles and headshakes too, but overall it was enjoyable. This book isn’t only about love, sex and finding his way in the world that he’s been away from for 18 years. It’s about Zach finding out who HE is, and learning from all the experiences he is having thrown at him. He is an alpha, through and through, but with Moira’s headstrong personality, he learns that he doesn't always have to be in charge of everything….it was a liberating thought for him and I really enjoyed seeing him grow and learn on an emotional level. He has a hard enough time accepting the fact that he is attracted to her, but to accept the fact that she brings him to his knees is a whole different story…..especially coming from his background.

Nothing has ever overwhelmed me the way Moira does. ~Zach

Their connection is so intense and PRIMAL that it surpasses cultural boundaries. Some things that we take for granted, or we know to be just ‘fact’, he is learning for the first time…..and the wonderment and curiosity of a kid in a grown man’s body is very evident.  It was funny and entertaining to see him learn everything…..from kissing to the emotion of love, and the actuality of falling in love.

I never knew. Never knew it could be this way. Never knew that losing control could be so fucking satisfying. ~Zach

He has thoroughly possessed me, and he has no clue. He has no idea the power he holds, and he clearly has no idea that my heart is now involved too. ~Moira

Now, as Zach and Moira fall into a groove and try to find their way in the modern world ~together~, they receive some emotional news and this causes some heartache for Moira, but also a deep realization and understanding from Zach, along with a sense of duty.  Living through the heartache and pain, but taking on an emotional pain never before experienced, allows Zach to understand his own untapped emotional being that far differs from the tribal life he knows.

I was curious about his ability to remember and pick up so much of the English language so quickly, and I wondered how he thought in such elaborate phrases, but I also had to accept the story for what it was: it was a love story to sink into and enjoy. One that pushed the reality bounds a tad, but also allowed me to take the ride into not so relatable territory…and I enjoyed it a lot. I truly enjoyed this book and the ride it took me on. I give this book 4 hot and uncivilized stars. I would highly recommend this read for ANY Sawyer Bennett fans. It was a very entertaining read.
