Surrounded by true love and happily ever afters, Sawyer's not sure if he's enhancing the what-ifs in his head, or if the goddess on stage that night really is worth the search and nagging in his chest.
At the most inopportune moment possible, Emmett Young comes "skipping" back into his life...and for the first time, Sawyer is the one left wanting more. But Emmett can't give her heart; it's already committed—for life.

Review:
5 Stars!
If there
is ONE book I recommend you read this month….let it be THIS ONE. Sawyer is
amazing…..I really think this book was the book to lead up to. By this, I mean
that I waited until NOW to read this series after I saw a teaser for Entice……and
after all the books leading up to this one, this was literally the icing on the
cake. It was superb! I fell in love with this series when I read Emerge;
absolutely loved it….easy 5 star read for me. But, as I was going through the
series and reading it, I got little glimpses of Sawyer and his personality, but
also his little insecurities here and there. He has this bravado, this
confidence about him that is irresistible….and the personality and wit to back
it up. He’s also good looking and he has charm, and he always protects what’s
his. Basically, he is a protective man with his own demons to battle. But, he also questions things and in this
book, we get to discover all that is Sawyer. Prepare to fall in love.
In the end
of Entangled, we finally see the breakdown of Sawyer and the drive to find the
one that has finally caught his eye….and cemented herself in his mind. Sawyer
saw this beautiful girl and needed to get to know her….as in; he followed her
at an event and went to go find her, but missed her. He tried and tried to find
her and searched many placed and couldn’t locate her…until a most inopportune
time, she walked right back into his life. The most embarrassing meeting
ever….but, he finally sees her again.
Badass
hair, cowboy boots and the face of an angel….she’s fucking Skittles-one
package, every fucking flavor! ~Sawyer
It was not
his ideal way to ‘find’ her, but he finally did….and walked away. That wasn’t a
good first “meeting”, per se.
Thankfully, this meeting doesn’t define what it is to come….and what’s
to come is an amazing love story like no other. I may have to admit to loving
Sawyer (but I still love Dane!!). He is so true and so real….this story was an
amazing story about a man trying so hard to do what’s right that he scares himself
off.
Emmett
Young was the one Sawyer wanted….the elusive one he sought after a brief
encounter. Watching him search for her
and what he went through should say something….volumes! And it did, but
Sawyer’s smart-assery comes into play as usual. No one gets to see the softer
side of Sawyer….do they?
Oh, and
I’ve definitely edged precariously close to actually growing a vagina. I can’t
help it, I don’t want to help it; I fucking like her, a lot. I think about
talking to her as much, if not more, than I think about sliding into her sweet
body. Even I know, that means something. ~Sawyer
When
Sawyer is contemplating more than just a one-night stand, you know
something is up! Seeing Sawyer turn into this smitten man was a great
adventure. Exploring this seemingly sensitive side to him was fascinating. I already loved Sawyer for the excellent
friend he was to everyone in The Crew, but seeing this softer side to him when
it came to a woman was incredible.
Sawyer was
trying really hard to get to know
Emmett, and trying really hard to let her know that he wanted more than just
friendship…..but alas, she was not having it. He was laying it on thick!!! But,
poor Emmett, she had a secret that was for sure going to scare him off and she
needed to keep him at arm’s length. She wasn’t going to allow herself to fall
for Sawyer, only to have him walk away and leave her. She was so sure that he
wasn’t going to stick around after he found out about her, so she wanted to be
his friend, and nothing more. He was given some good advice by Kasey, and it
was very fitting for Sawyer:
“You
know,” he slaps on hand on my shoulder, “You can chase and chase a butterfly
and never catch them. But if you stand still, they may decide to land right on
you.”
Excellent
advice….and Sawyer needed to listen. So, Sawyer decided to back off and friend
Emmett; actually be there for her and get to know her. They played a get-to-know-you
game with each other that was the sweetest thing ever, but it helped break down
some walls and I loved it. It was so romantic and sweet. However, there was
still a really big secret that Emmett was holding onto. My heart broke for her.
She was hiding something, and I just wanted to hug her. Our own imagined fears
block what can simply be phenomenal….we just have to let those fears go
sometimes.
They end
up spending a lot of time together and spending many nights together…..many.
She would be in his arms and they would snuggle all night. Why was this
relevant? Because Sawyer always “hit it and quit it”, never wanting a woman to
stay overnight and sleep with him. But, it wasn’t for a lack of trying to get
close to her. One scene I read was, to me, the perfect explanation for Sawyer waiting before he actually
took her. It set the stage for me as to how thoughtful and sweet Sawyer was
when it came to Emmett. She was different. She meant much more to him…
“Yes, I
have fucked a lot of women. Yes, I would love to get lost inside of your sweet
little body, but not like that. I want to know you, everything about you. I
want to make love to you, which I’ve never done before. When I take you, it
will be because you can’t wait another fucking second, begging me to take you to a place where only you and
I exist, a place where only I can show you I love your heart as much as your
body, your mind and everything else that makes you you.”
Call me a
sucker….but I was done for after that. Oh, he made me just *sigh*. This sexy
side of Swoony Sawyer was so delicious…..scrumdiddlyumptious. Yes….that is my
new favorite word to describe Sawyer. Tattooed, pierced….it all adds up to
yumminess. He fell head-over-heals in
love with Emmett, and he was dead set on proving his worth to her and how much
he wanted to be there for her. I really loved this side of him….I truly did.
Seeing their relationship grow and develop into something beautiful was such a
treat. Excellently written, your emotions thrive just as Sawyer’s and Emmett’s
do. It was such a treasure.
After
finding out Emmett’s secret and accepting that this is who she is and what she
has to offer, he buckles down, steps up to the plate and is the man I knew he
was. He was IT! I am sitting here, shaking my head….trying to figure out how to
convey to YOU that this MAN was more than amazing. Sawyer is unbelievably
marvelous, sinfully delicious and mouthwatering. The full package…literally.
Unfortunately,
he gets caught up and loses sight of his goal….and he puts his relationship
with Emmett to the test and makes some stupid decisions. Ones that are very
hard to stomach for Emmett.
We see
Sawyer throughout the entire series making sure Laney is ok….there is a certain
protectiveness he has over Laney. He showed that he is an amazing and loyal
friend to all The Crew, but we also got to see the softer side of him when
Laney tries to talk with him and help him out. Sawyer tries to push Laney away when she
starts to ask how things are going with him and Emmett, but she only wants to
be there for him……especially since they are roommates now. I loved seeing the
whole crew pull together for Sawyer’s sake this time. He has always been the
rock for everyone else and it was nice to see that he had really good friends
that surrounded him.
Overall,
this book is an amazing book….stupendous, wondrous, magnificent, powerful and
phucking phenomenal. Yes, I said
phucking…..gets me by the Amazon meanies.
Anyways, this story is one for the record books…seriously, it takes you
on a journey and you are feeling everything WITH Sawyer and Emmett. You aren’t
looking in….you are there. I highlighted SO much in my book….it really made it
difficult to narrow down any quotes. I LOVED THIS BOOK!
Excellent
story. Excellent journey. Excellent love.
5 phenomenal stars….I don’t want this series to
end. At. All.
Love,
Bethany
