Book Tour: Fighting Shadows by Aly Martinez

Title: Fighting Shadows
Author: Aly Martinez
Series: On The Ropes #2
~ SYNOPSIS ~
I come from a family of fighters. I always thought I’d follow in their shadows, becoming unstoppable in the ring. That changed the day I saved the life of a woman I loved, but could never have.

My brother hailed me as a hero, and my reward was a wheelchair.

Paralyzed, my life became an inescapable nightmare.

Until I met her.

Ash Mabie had a heart-stopping smile and a laugh that numbed the rage and resentment brewing inside of me. She showed me that even the darkest night still had stars, and it didn’t matter one bit that you had to lie in the weeds to see them.

I was a jaded asshole who fell for a girl with a knack for running away. I couldn’t even walk but I would have spent a lifetime chasing her.

Now, I’m on the ropes during the toughest battles of my life.

Fighting the shadows of our past.

Fighting to reclaim my future.

Fighting for her.

~5 Testy Stars!!~
OMG. This book.....thiisssss book. So where we left off in Fighting Silence, Fighting Shadows picked right up and the story hit the ground running.

I was lucky I had someone that I could chat this book out with. I had a weird type of anxiousness while reading it. I got to 39% and had to go back and re-read the prologue, because I was starting to get a better understanding of how it was all playing out!! What had ONE meaning actually meant another....I was dying!! It was like realization was hitting and some deeper meaning was becoming very apparent. I couldn't read fast enough, but also I wanted to read slow enough to make it last. This book was SOOO good!!! Really, truly...just a really GOOD book.

I liked the way Flint was forced out of his comfort zone.
I liked how Ash didn't take any crap from him.
I enjoyed seeing Ash always smiling and turning Flint into a head-case.
I enjoyed seeing Flint finally opening up and seeing what he can possibly have.
I hated seeing the heartbreak that Ash and Flint go through....while trying to grow up and try to survive the daily life.
I liked how Flint fought for what he wanted. And let it be known, he wanted Ash and there was nothing that was going to stand in his way.

The way this story played out was like watching a movie, things coming from both sides of the screen and I was getting whiplash....IN A GOOD WAY. The storyline showed great growth and the plot moved along especially well. I cannot recommend this book enough. So worth the read. I loved Flint....100% a fan of his. I liked Till's story, but I loved Flints. I loved the many layers of Flint....and watching them slowly peel away was a treat. This is NOT a book to miss....it was wonderful. I highly recommend this book...really. It was *that* good.

I have to admit, the very end brought tears to my eyes....Quarry's story started out gutwrenching and sad. I can't imagine where his story is going to go, but I can only imagine Aly Martinez is going to do it justice.
