~ SYNOPSIS ~
Raegan Montgomery's life changed in an instant…
One minute you think you know someone and the next minute they’re a stranger. When Raegan was forced to make a decision, she ended up alone. All. Alone.
One step inside a gym was all it took.
The ring became her escape. She was more determined than ever to move on and forget her old life. That was, until she saw those blue eyes.
Garrett Johnson wants nothing more than to spend his time training and dominating in the ring.
It's what he's good at.
It's what he does.
He has no time, or desire, to be entangled in a relationship. But after one look at Raegan, his whole world shifted. He needs her, he needs to know her, only its not so easy. This may be a fight he can’t win.
Will he be able to win Raegan over? Or will it end in a total knock out?
~ 4 Stars ~
Raegan didn’t
have an easy life. She did once upon a time, but not anymore. The dad she once
knew, loved, and respected was now an abusive alcoholic and the boyfriend she
thought she’d end up with, was not the most faithful guy in town. Tired of not
being able to defend herself, she started taking kickboxing classes which lead
to a life-changing decision.
One day,
after walking into a gym where fighters trained, Raegan knew her life wouldn’t
be the same…in more ways than one.
First of all, she couldn’t turn her back on what had quickly become a passion
for her and secondly, she couldn’t ignore the fact that she was drawn to Garrett.
Garrett slept
around. He never once found the urge or even interest in being in a committed
relationship, but Reagan had turned his world upside down from the moment he
laid eyes on her. Let’s just say his alpha and protective side came out to
play. As for Reagan, she knew she had to stay away from him and stay focused on
her goal. If she wanted to be a real fighter, she had to stay on track. But
that was easier said than done. The attraction between them was inexplicable
for both and there was only so much they could do to put off the inevitable.
Reagan and
Garrett’s couldn’t stay away from each other or hold back their feelings, so their
relationship developed really fast. They faced quite a few ups and downs along
the way, but that only made them stronger in the end. You see, Garrett was very
protective over Reagan, all while Reagan was trying to become a strong and independent
woman. So yes, sometimes their attitudes clashed, but like I said, towards the
end, that only made them stronger.
My main issue with this book was the fact that I didn’t really connect with Reagan. I had a hard time understanding her reasoning and actions, and I also felt like there were a few details that contradicted themselves throughout the storyline. However,
all that said, I did enjoy this book overall. It was a quick and entertaining
read and I will most definitely be checking out book two in the series, Lance’s
story.
I don’t want her fighting anymore. She doesn’t need to, she’s away from her dad, and he was the reason she started all this. I can take care of her and make sure she has everything she’s ever wanted. What I can’t figure out is how to bring it up without upsetting her. I finally have her where I have always wanted her and I’m scared to lose her. I’m not scared of anything except that. I could lose every fight for the rest of my life and not feel a thing, but to lose her would completely tear me apart. She’s turned my life around and made me want to be a better person. I don’t know what the future has in store for us but all I can hope is she’s there for the rest of my life.
