Book Review: "Connected" by Kim Karr

Connected (Connections, #1)

(Connections, Book 1)
 Synopsis:

What if a ‘Once in a Lifetime’ could happen twice?

Suffering from a past full of tragedy, Dahlia London's soul has been left completely shattered. Happily ever after is a far cry from reality in her world. But, when she is reconnected with her past, the bonds that form are irrefutable.

When River Wilde, lead singer of The Wilde Ones, comes back into Dahlia’s life, the intensity that fires their relationship combined with underlying feelings that have never died lead her to believe she has met her soulmate.

Struggling with confusion as old connections fade and new ones begin, Dahlia's grief begins to lift--but guilt remains. River wants to be the one to mend all that is torn within her.

But with a past that is never really gone, can their future survive?

Review:
4.5 Stars

“When our eyes connected it felt like minutes, in reality it was mere seconds. At that moment, something happened inside of me. The connection was like nothing I’d ever felt before. It was an electric pull that willed me in and forced me to keep looking at him…."

Dahlia and River.... Talk about one amazing couple. The first night they met, even though they had an electrifying connection, things didn't really go their way. You see, Dahlia wasn't available. Ben and Dahlia had been in a relationship since...forever. You know, the type that started out when they were young... transitioning from best friends to lovers. That kind of relationship. Ben was her rock, her everything. That is, until a tragic event turns Dahlia's world upside down.

Getting over losing Ben was not something Dahlia did over night. It basically took her three years to actually begin to live again. Enter River... again. Dahlia's best friend, Aerie asked her to go interview River in Vegas for a magazine. Thank you, Aerie!!! Finally, after missing their opportunity that fateful night all those years ago, they were brought face to face.
Boy, was their chemistry HOT. *fans self* River Wilde is not only HOT, but fan-freaking-tastic. Talk about swoon-worthy!

"Dahlia, I love everything about you. I know in my heart you're my girl..."

"...all I want is you and me forever."

Finally together, you could tell they had deep and genuine feelings towards each other. River was always patient with Dahlia and completely understanding. LOVED that. I swear, there is absolutely nothing negative to say about him. Nothing. *Swoons*

The plot was very interesting. There was drama, angst, and a juicy romance. Awesome, right? Also, this is the type of book you have to read while paying attention to the details. I'm the type of reader that makes up theories along the way, so I love books with plots like that.

Now, about the ending... I guess you can say there's a plot cliffhanger which might make your jaw drop. Nothing like a little twist right at the end *wink*. Let's just say, I'm happy I had book two, Torn, handy.

Go read this book!!! You must meet River Wilde!!!

"I never imagined I could feel so connected to anyone as much as I feel connected to you. I knew I loved you from the moment I saw you. How could I not? Loving you is as easy as breathing."

About the Author:
Kim Karr

I live in Florida with my husband and four kids. I’ve always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, I wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. I went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise my family. I currently work part-time with my husband and full-time embracing one of my biggest passions—writing.

I wear a lot of hats! Writer, book-lover, wife, soccer-mom, taxi driver, and the all around go-to person of the family. However, I always find time to read. One of my favorite family outings use to be taking my kids to the bookstore or the library. Today, my oldest child is in college and my twins are juniors so they no longer go with me on these outings. And although I don’t need to go to the actual store anymore because I have the greatest device ever invented—a Kindle, I still do. There’s nothing like a paperback. So now my four year old and I make dates out of going to the bookstore–it’s time I love and cherish.

I like to believe in soulmates, kindred spirits, true friends, and Happily-Ever-Afters. I love to drink champagne, listen to music, and hopes to always stay young at heart. <3
