Book Review: "Three of Spades" by W. Ferraro

Three of Spades (Hamden, #2)

(Hamden Series, Book 2)
Synopsis:

Dylan Cross is the type of man that enjoys everything female, and enjoy it he does, but always on his terms. However, his terms are pushed to their limit when Natalie Parker proposes an offer; teach her and her delectable little body, all about sex and desire. There is one catch. He has to play the part of Natalie's madly in love boyfriend for her dying mother. Dylan signs on, and finds that separating the two is harder than he thought. Natalie's days of shyness and lack of confidence come to a quick close as she learns what her body craves and demands in the bedroom. Soon, Dylan becomes the student as Natalie
teaches him things he didn't even know he wanted. Will Hamden's notorious playboy, bachelor be able to keep calling the shots, or will he find that, he, himself, is just another player at the card game of life, as we all are?

Review:
5 Stars

"Clothes only can do so much. It's one's physical beauty which does the rest. You, my dear, have already got that in spades."

In the second installment to the Hamden Series, Three of Spades, we get introduced to Natalie. A self-conscious, sweet, caring, and shy Elementary school teacher who would do anything for her dying mother.

"So, after all that my mother has gone through in life because of me, if seeing me with a man will give her comfort and take some of her excruciating pain away, then yes, I will go through with a ridiculous fake relationship."

This is basically how Natalie met bad boy, Dylan Cross -- through a proposition. She asked him to not only be her fake boyfriend, but to also have sex with her... in Natalie's case, for the first time...ever.  Yep, at 28 years old, Natalie was still a virgin. Always focusing on her studies, then her work, and recently, her mother, she never found time for a relationship. So, as way to make her mother happy, she requested Dylan's participation.

I have to say, I really loved Dylan!!! My, my, my!! I think he might be my favorite Hamden hottie. Talk about a hot and successful alpha male! Phew!! *fans self* He was always super protective and gentle with Natalie which made me swoon more times that I care to admit. Even though he had his playboy reputation, if there was one thing you could count on, it was on Dylan respecting and defending women. When Dylan agreed to take part in this "relationship", he really went 'all-in'. In fact. he treated Natalie like HIS princess.

"I'm not know for my willingness to share, Natalie."

"You are so beautiful, Natalie. Every time I take you is better than the last. You are spoiling me for everyone else."

In Three of Spades, the plot was angst ridden and kept me on my toes throughout the entire book. There were definitely more than a few things going on that affected Dylan and Natalie, so I was extremely happy with how things ended. Loved the ending.

Something I also really enjoyed about this book, was how we sort of got "sneak peeks" into Wes' story along the way. To say it really piqued my curiosity, would be an understatement. Oh, and I think CeCe should get her own book!!! Besides the fact that I loved her character, I think she has one hell of a story to tell.  :)

Go buy this book! I highly recommend it.

"Be mine, forever. I want everyone to know you belong to me and you, only you, will always have the deed to my heart."
