(Connected, Book 2)
Synopsis:
*This is the retelling of Reconnected from Liam's POV, however it CAN be read as a standalone.*
A Fast Paced Love Story!
Liam and Katy were high school sweethearts. Shortly after they graduated they ran off to Vegas to get married. Liam does theater acting and it's there that he is discovered by Excite Entertainment and flown to L.A.
Once he's in L.A his marriage takes the backseat to rubbing elbows with Hollywood's biggest and brightest. One night Liam throws a big party and Katy comes into their house filled with half dressed women. When Katy says she's going to leave, Liam doesn't believe her until he comes home from filming and finds a note that tears him apart.
Four years later, he's tried to move on but never let go of the love he has in his heart for his Katy. It's in a little town they are filming in that their paths cross again and Liam has to try and convince Katy that their love is worth fighting for.
Review:
4 Stars
"Disconnected, that's how I've felt the last four years since Katy walked out of my life."
I enjoyed Liam and Katy's story in "Reconnected", but I must say, I liked reading Liam's point of view more. I feel like there was more depth and that a lot of things made more sense now, having gotten the whole picture. So even though this book can be read as a stand alone, I would suggest reading "Reconnected" since you could say that they compliment each other.
"I'm not Liam Warren movie star to her. I'm just Liam, her Liam, and I need to be him again."
I loved Liam since book one, and seeing how much he truly wanted to work things out with Katy made me love him even more. I didn't feel angry towards him at the beginning (since he did cause the break up) because I feel like they needed that reality check in order to really be together once and for all. Throughout this book, we see how Liam takes responsibility for how his life has turned out. He knows he let "Hollywood" get the best of him and he wants to make things right.
"It didn't matter where I was, I'd look for Katy in every woman's face."
The plot was basically the same as in "Reconnected" but I liked that there were a few additions to the story line. Regarding Scott and Krista's relationship, just like with Liam and Katy, seeing things Scott did that we didn't know about, made me understand them more as a couple.
Something I really liked about "Disconnected" was the bonus scene at the end. It leaves things open ended with possibilities for another book...maybe a spin off? *wink*
Overall, "Disconnected" was an enjoyable, sweet story about fighting for your true love. If you're a romance fan, you'll definitely have a pleasant time reading this book.
"I want the world to know that we're back together and I'm not disconnected from life anymore. I've felt that way for so long and I think it showed in everything I did. I'm complete with you."
"Are you enjoying the vacation?" I ask as we start walking closer to the water.
She nods,
smiling over at me. "I am. It's beautiful here. Almost makes me never want
to leave."
I pull
her into my arms just as we reach the edge of the water. "I can't make
that happen, unfortunately...but maybe we can have a getaway house out here, if
not on this island, another one. I want to give you the best, baby."
Katy puts
her hand on my cheek before getting on her tip toes to press her lips to mine.
"'Best' to me is just having the best of you, Liam. You don't have to take
me jet-setting around the world. I would be happy even just having our home
back in Nevada by our parents' houses. All that matters to me is that I get
real world Liam Warren, not Hollywood's Liam Warren."
"You've
got me, Katy. You remind me of where I started, just an actor in Theo's
theater, no one special. Not someone who had fan-girls and posters that
probably hang on those girls' walls. Just a guy who was trying to get by, do
something that made him happy. If I ever get a big head again, I need you to
knock me down. Smack me around a little to put me in my place," I tease her.
She
laughs and walks ahead of me, pulling me by the hand behind her. "I
promise to do that. Someone has to."
