What
a fantastic, light and sexy read!!! I really, truly enjoyed the turn of
every page. Brandy L Rivers delivered us a wonderful and romantic story that
showed us that true love always finds
its way regardless of the obstacles one may face in life.
Mila
had just gotten out of a long and tedious relationship and all she wanted was
to let loose for at least one night.
What’s wrong with that? It was just a one-time thing, right? Whatever happened
during that night, would stay a memory of that night.
Well……wrong.
Fast
forward to six years later, we found out that Mila’s “one night of fun” plan
resulted in a life-long relationship. Mila had gotten pregnant and was now a
proud single mom of a truly wonderful and beautiful little girl, Cherish. Being
a single mom and dating didn’t go hand-in-hand for Mila. After a final straw
with an ex-boyfriend, she decided to pack up and move with Cherish and have a
fresh start free of men. She didn’t need a man in her life, after all. She was
more than happy with it being just her and Cherish.
Enter
Kyle. Hot and sexy firefighter, Kyle.
When
Kyle got a glimpse of his new neighbors, he was automatically drawn to them. He
could tell Mila was a phenomenal mother and that Cherish was just ADORABLE. And he was right. For the life of him,
he could not focus on anything else other than Mila and Cherish. They all
shared a spark – a connection – that kept
him coming back for more. Mila was hesitant, though. She didn’t want or need a man, remember? But she, too, felt a
strong connection to Kyle. A sort of familiarity
that was simply beyond her control.
Once
they became a couple, they faced a few challenges, obstacles, and one heck a
life-changing surprise. The exes, Rene and Paul, came into play, which made me
want to slap them both several times. I felt very protective of Kyle and Mila.
I needed them to get their happily
ever after, so anything or anyone that tried to get in the way, got a mental
smack on head from me.
Now,
I will be 300% honest. Mila and Kyle’s relationship developed super quickly in
this book. A year ago, I would have been one of those readers that roll their
eyes and say that it’s just not possible for two people to fall in love that
fast. In fact, I would have probably taken off a star in my final rating. HOWEVER,
I am now a firm believer that it actually CAN HAPPEN in real life, so why not
in books as well? My soon to be husband and I met and fell in love in a matter
of weeks. Today, we are still very much in love and planning on getting married
sooner rather than later. So see? No two
relationships develop at the same pace. To me, Kyle and Mila’s fast-paced
relationship was nothing but a sweet reminder that when true love strikes,
nothing will stand in the way. I highly recommend Heart on Fire. FIVE STARS!
