"I never thought I deserved to be happy.."
After reading this book's synopsis I knew I had a great read ahead... but I must say, it was way beyond anything I expected.
After reading this book's synopsis I knew I had a great read ahead... but I must say, it was way beyond anything I expected.
What an incredible book! A true page turner!!
The story line was definitely very emotional. It touched serious, dark, and sad subjects.
“And if he went into the dark again, this time I would be there to find him – to follow him. Because I thought, perhaps quite immeasurable that my love could help him. Maybe our love could even do more than just help – maybe it could heal him. Fix him. Fix everything.”
The characters were amazing. Maggie was funny, witty, sarcastic, emotional and just a regular teenager. Regular in all sense of the word.. That is until she ran into Clayton Reed. Literally.
Since their first encounter, she couldn't stop thinking about him and little did she know he'd change her life. Clay was quiet and shy at first. He never really hung around people. At times he was even quite intimidating. But all that had a very sad story behind it. Once he lets Maggie in, they change each other. They fall madly in love. But unfortunately, there are times when reality and all it's baggage make love to be simply not enough.
“When you’re in a room, Maggie, all I see is you. You make everything better. Clearer. You stop the crazy noise in my head. I can think, hell, I can breathe when we’re together. What you make me feel is the most unbelievable and scary thing I’ve ever felt."
"When I asked him as to why he only drew the butterflies he had kissed me softly on the mouth."Because you make me feel free"."
Clay whispered in my ear. "This is forever, Maggie. I would follow you into hell if I had to." His breath tickled my skin. He kissed my temple.
"You are all I want for the rest of my life."
"You are all I want for the rest of my life."
Regarding the ending..
It has a very realistic and amazingly written ending... though keep in mind it doesn't end in a happy place.. BUT don't freak out!!! Their story continues!!!
The sequel: "Light in the Shadow" is already out. :)
GO BUY THIS AMAZING BOOK!
"I hate this lost feeling." His voice shook. I gently rubbed his cheek, my fingers brushed his hair back from his face. "If you're feeling lost, well, I'll just have to fin you."
