Hard body of a man
Sings like an angel
Fucks like the devil
I was stuck between a rock(star) and a hard place.
At fifteen, his poster hung on my bedroom wall. At twenty-five his body hovered over mine. Every girl's fantasy became my reality. I was dating a rockstar. Yet I was slowly falling for another man. The problem was--the two men--they shared a tour bus.
Flynn Beckham was the opening act.
Dylan Ryder was the headliner.
What happens when the opening act begins to shine so bright, it seems to dim everything else in its wake?
I'll tell you what happens. Things get ugly.
~ 4.5 STARS ~
This was a FUN book to read....I LOVED it. Loved it. I jumped on this tour and thought, hmmm.....first Vi Keeland book? I should probably get the first one in this series so I'm all caught up. I purchased THROB and devoured it. Good news is, you don't need to read Throb in order to enjoy Beat, but I am glad I did because that is where I met and subsequently fell in love with Flynn.
~Everything happens for a reason~
I really enjoy love stories that challenge your thinking and belief systems. We all know cheating is bad.....but sometimes, your heart just has a mind of it's own. Hence the reason I love triangles. I love that, if written correctly, you are forced to choose right along with the characters. Nothing is black and white. You fall in love with the characters and have to see the story through their eyes. I love that. It puts emotion and personality directly into the action and the circumstances going on. I'm also a firm believer in fate and this book had it in spades. It had angst and some serious sexy time, but it had Flynn and his dimples as well.
I. Love. Flynn.
I love who he is, what he is and I most certainly loved HOW he was....he was fun and light, smart ass and poet, intense and sexy.....all wrapped into one. He is a real gentleman with a naughty side, and that is admirable. I love that there was honest guilt and true emotions, and he was a man with conviction.
~I'm lost in thought, my mind whilring between what I've done and why I did it, but mostly I find myself thinking about how right it felt, even though it was clearly wrong~
Lucky and Flynn's relationship was, to me, something that was meant to be. It just was. Regardless of where you are in your life, what's supposed to happen will. Whether you are ready for it or not. This was Lucky and Flynn's story and I think it was perfect. They see that something so innocent turns into something so necessary for their daily routines. I loved the little things that turned into BIG things for them. I read this book and smiled, laughed and swooned. Flynn is very swoony and Lucky is very.....well, lucky. I love the way their relationship started, when realization hit and when choices had to be made.
~Choose me, or choose him. One or the other, because there's no going back anymore. We've crossed the blur line.~
I truly enjoyed this book....and then I hit 96% and then a whirlwind of closure happened. This book was full of angst and anticipation and all the things that made me want to turn the pages. It was SO good. The last 4% wasn't bad AT ALL.....it was just too darn quick!! I wanted more. I completely fell in love with Flynn and Lucky and everything they had. It just cleared up way too quickly and easily. Would I recommend this book? 100% yes. Easily. This book was FULL of meaning and intention....I loved this book.
~We're two souls colliding, rocking as one person, doing something I never realized I hadn't done before.~
Very well done!! Vi Keeland is an author that I now know can write a good story and I wont question picking up another one.

~ VI KEELAND ~
Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn't change for the world. She is a bookworm and has been known to read her kindle at stop lights, while styling her hair, cleaning, walking, during sporting events, and frequently while pretending to work. She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting smut author by night!
