Book Review: Ryker by Sawyer Bennett

Title: Ryker
Author: Sawyer Bennett
~ SYNOPSIS ~
The stakes have never been higher for Carolina Cold Fury goalie Ryker Evans. With his contract running out, he’s got a year left to prove he’s still at the top of his game. And since his wife left him, Ryker has been balancing life as a pro-hockey star and a single parent to two daughters. Management is waiting for him to screw up. The fans are ready to pounce. Everybody’s taking dirty shots—except for the fiery redhead whose faith in Ryker gives him a fresh start.

As the league’s only female general manager, Gray Brannon has learned not to mix business with pleasure. And yet even this tough, talented career woman can’t help breaking her own rules as she gives Ryker everything she’s got. She hopes their hot streak will last forever, but with Ryker’s conniving ex plotting to reclaim her man, the pressure’s on Gray to step up and save a tender new love before it’s too late.

 ~5 STARS~
Best. Book. Yet.

Seriously.....WOW. Talk about taking you through the wringer on a very sticky subject!!! SB is nothing short of brilliant. I know with every SB book, I'm going to walk away smiling, but sometimes she gets me jumping...and this one was NO exception. The way she can weave a story together, she hits every emotion right on the head. MAN!! My excitement about this book is HIGH. I seriously loved it.

Awww man. The forbidden aspect of the story kept me intrigued and the explosive and 'needy' love Ryker and Gray had was SOOOO good. I seriously LOVED it.
Stolen looks
Secret rendezvous
Innuendos
Loved. It.

Ryker is my new favorite. Zack was originally....but man! Ryker stole my heart. Seriously. Ryker is the epitome of a REAL man. All man. OMG....he was so swoony and SOOO good!!! He had character, he had honest values and he had swoon appeal. AND....he had a sarcastic side to him. Seriously, the WHOLE package!!

~And then I truly understand my attraction to Ryker. He is an unbelievably good man. He's a team player all the way. He wants the greater good for the whole rather than for the individual.~

But, it would be unfair if I were not to mention the BALLS Gray had. Ok? BALLS. Lady balls. She made me laugh!!! She was a hard working, super ridiculously smart analytical person....love was the last thing she was looking for. So when we got to see her grow and discover these 'feelings' she has for Ryker, it was such a treat.

~My pulse is thumping, almost as if my heart recognizes it's getting closer to the source of it's excitement.~

I loved discovering those feelings with her....but listening to her trying to downplay what she thought was going on? So hard....especially when they both knew they were playing with fire and it could get very difficult for them both. Doubt is ugly, but love-driven-fear is exciting.

But, as usual: I had a stupid giddy grin on my face while I finished it up!!!!! So perfect!! I didn't want it to end, but it ended so perfectly!! Seriously....perfection. I loved this book. SB never fails to amaze me; her books are guaranteed to make me happy. I love being wrapped up in her book world.....slapped into the middle of a series. You always feel like you're a part of the ride and friends with all of her characters. She has this amazing ability to draw you into her books, and they get better and better with each one. Did I mention I loved this book.....?

~We don't get to choose who we fall for.~

And now I wonder, WHO is Hawke?
*An ARC was received in exchange for an honest review*
